Love
Love--- I see many posts on the internet that discuss in various ways, love! As I grow older I spend way too much time trying to figure out things that have eluded me over my life. One such topic is, when do you fall in love? When I was young, I met this beautiful girl on a blind date, and we started dating. We somehow just seemed to be "going steady" using a term out of the 1950s. When I asked for her hand in marriage, I remember wondering if I was in love. We married and enjoyed 40 years of marriage. We have four beautiful and talented kids who I am very proud of, and now I have seven grandkids. But the question remains, when did we fall in love? Now I have started a second marriage after the loss of this great lady who I married in my youth. My current wife and I met on the internet, spent endless hours on the phone, and sent over 800 emails before deciding to get together. Were we in love? Wow! And when did "like" change to "love"? Shakespeare probably has a soliloquy that deals with Romeo and Juliet and their love for each other, but what I remember from that drama was that Romeo and Juliet were probably infatuated. Somehow, this subject is for another time and place, but I will continue to proclaim my love for the women who have stood by my side for years and tolerated this guy who isn't too perfect. -- Enough
